Pregnancy Yoga FAQ's

1. When can I start Pregnancy Yoga classes?

Pregnancy Yoga classes are suitable from the second trimester onwards up to when you give birth.

2. What should I bring to class?

Yoga mats and cushions are provided in your class, although you are more than welcome to bring your own. Some classes we use an exercise ball and again you can bring your own or there will be some to borrow for that class. It is important to stay hydrated so bring along a bottle of water.

You should wear something comfortable as there is a lot of movement in the class.

3. Where are the classes held?

The in-person classes are held in the Quaker Meeting House, Churchtown, Dublin 14. There is free parking at the venue, and we are straight through the main doors

The nearest Luas stop is ‘Windy Arbour’ which is about a 3-minute walk away.

The online classes are held on Zoom.

4. Can I claim back through my Health Insurance Company for the classes?

You will have to check with your own insurance company as it can depend on the level of cover that you have.

5. Can my Partner come to the classes?

The Pregnancy Yoga classes are just for the mum to be, but we often offer a partner class and you will be given this information during your term.

Infant Massage FAQ's

1. What age is Baby Massage Suitable for?

Baby Massage can be started at birth and can classes are taught up to 1 year old.

2. What do I need to bring to the class?

Mats, cushions and oil are provided in the class for your baby and all you need to bring is what you would usually take out with your baby.

3. Can I claim back through my health insurance company?

Yes you may be able to claim some of the class payment back through your insurance company, you will have to check your level of cover.

4. Can I bring a sibling to the class?

It is recommended you come along with just your baby to the class, but if you have no other arrangements you are welome to bring along another child. We do ask that you bring something to keep your child occupied (there will be spare dolls if they wish to take part in the class) it is important they are not disruptive in the class.

Toddler Yoga FAQ's

1. What age is Toddler Yoga Suitable for?

Toddler Yoga classes are for toddlers aged 18 months and 5 years old .

2. What do I need to bring to the class?

Mats and cushions are provided in the class for you and your toddler, please refrain from bringing toys as they can be distracting to other toddlers.

3. Can I bring a sibling to the class?

The class is open to all children aged between 18 months and 5 years old and you are more than welcome to come with more than one child to the class. During mid-terms the older children as also welcome to come along and it is a family class.

4. Where are the classes held?

5. What should we wear?

Your toddler should wear something comfortable to move around in, this is also recommend for the parent coming to the class also.

6. Can I leave my toddler there an return after the class?

This class is for Parents and toddlers to do together so parents must be present at all times.

Infant Massage Training Course FAQ’s

1. What does the training course cover?

The course follows a comprehensive 15-point core curriculum with the same content around the world. The curriculum includes, e.g. the history of infant massage, benefits, bonding, attachment, communication and group facilitation skills, marketing, research, understanding how an infant communicates, and the strokes and how they can be adapted. Also included in the 4-day training is a 3-day practicum class with parents and babies.

2. How long does the course last?

The course is four full days.

3. Who massages the babies?

Parents massage their own babies and instructors demonstrate using dolls. A portion of the course includes practical experience in teaching parents how to massage their babies. An infant’s first language is touch, and massage is a beautiful tool parents can use to establish a strong bond and create a healthy attachment. An IAIM Instructor’s role is to create an environment that allows parents and babies to strengthen their bonds and deepen their love for each other.

4. Who can take the course?

Anyone 18 or older who has a desire to teach parents to massage their babies, can take the training course.

5. What are the prerequisites to take the course?

An ability to communicate well with parents. There are no specific educational requirements.

6. What are the requirements to become certified?

To earn your infant massage instructor certification, you must:

  • Attend the 4-day IAIM Instructor training course.

  • Complete the required reading and satisfactorily complete the take-home open-book assignment.

  • Complete a hands-on practicum: teaching 5 families to massage their babies in a five-week course or five-session private consultations.

  • Submit certification package to IAIM Trainer for review.

7. Is the certification recognized in other countries?

Yes, your certification is recognized world-wide. IAIM has affiliates in over 50 different countries around the world.
